Keep your pet quiet and confined when they return home
Offer a small amount of water and food that night
Do not worry if they are not interested in their meal when they return home – they’ve had a big day! We would expect they should be interested in eating again the following morning
Give any medications as prescribed
Phone the clinic if you have any concerns such as excessive licking or chewing wounds
Make an appointment with us for a recheck after surgery and for suture removal (if applicable). Suture removal is usually 10-14 days post op.
One of our veterinary nurses will be in touch the next day to see how your pet is recovering after their procedure. This allows us to make sure they are doing ok and to answer any additional questions or concerns that you may have.
